Terming today’s strike against efforts to abrogate Article 370 as eye opener for New Delhi, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has appealed masses to be prepared for more stiff resistance to foil New Delhi’s nefarious designs. In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said that while people have shown unity as usual, leadership needs to give up personal egos and agendas. Er. Rasheed said “New Delhi must be prepared to face the worst if it continues with its dirty measures against the special status of J&K. It is disgracing that on one hand Mehbooba Mufti claimed that PM Mr. Modi has assured her of not weakening the special status including Article 35-A, but on the other hand has decided not to defend India’s own constitution in the Supreme Court. Miss Mehooba should know that it is not Mr. Modi but the Supreme Court that has to decide the fate of Article 35-A. By not defending 35-A in Supreme Court not only central Govt. but Mehbooba Mufti also stands exposed for misleading people. Such worst hypocrisy has exposed Modi’s duel policy by trying to keep a lollipop in Mehbooba Mufti’s mouth but on the other hand leaving India’s own constitution at the mercy of Supreme Court. The act of not defending India’s own constitution in the Supreme Court should be something a cause of big worry for Indians and current central Govt. should be charged for disrespecting India’s own constitution”. Er. Rasheed added that if current regime doesn’t believe in its own constitution by not defending Article 35-A, it has no right to ask Kashmiris a solution within the parameters of Indian constitution.
